We had an adventure in the wilds of Pennsylvania this weekend, as Yeats discovered a meadery called Meduseld about 45 miles from us and declared that we had to go find it and try their mead. I didn't fight this very hard, since I am only slightly less of a nerd than he is, and also mead is delicious. What we did not know is that those 45 miles take over 90 minutes to drive, as they are winding, slow miles through alternating swathes of Pennsylvania farmland and struggling Pennsylvania small towns.

But! Meduseld Meadery is very neat, their mead is delicious (I liked Study in Lavender, Yeats is ready to purchase a keg of Rhymer's Share), they make a fantastic cheese plate, and they have axe-throwing. In the meadery. With an employee whose title is "huscarl" overseeing and offering tips. We also fiddled with Google Maps and realized that while it may be a slowish 90-minute drive from our house, the meadery is at most 15 minutes from the B&B where we spend a weekend every fall for the Ren Faire. Excellent *rubs hands*

Prepping for CecilCon this weekend! Anyone in the DE/upper MD/general area, come to a local con, meet cool people, see Yeats in his kilt, buy some books and swag!
