I was initially a little worried that Aveline's caseload would vanish once she quit representing indigent parents for the State. After four initial consults this week alone, two of which have already retained her, my worries are more or less gone. I am also quite tired, having had to monitor a consult's very bored 16-year-old son as he waited in our foyer, but hey. Clients!

Most of our weekends in October are booked (Faire! Yeats' 40th birthday party! Another local con!), so we are basking in our free time while we can. We're re-watching season 2 of The Good Place in anticipation of season 3, Yeats is already on book 3 of his new detective series and all the beta readers really like book 1 so far, and I am sneaking in one more replay on DA: Inquisition in-between his bouts of Destiny 2. And I am reading, and monitoring my intake of social media, and beating back anxiety with a stick made of cute kitten pictures.
