Yesterday was a long slog of a day, but while I was walking stuff up to the mailbox, someone's dog (a lot of people in this building bring their dogs to work since we're close to a park and they can be walked) trotted up to me, proudly showed off the stick they found, and went back to their owner with tail wagging. So that improved the day by an order of magnitude.

Yeats is off with his guy friends doing guy stuff, and I spent last night on the sofa with the cats watching "Call Me By Your Name" and marveling at the sculpted perfection that is Armie Hammer's...everything. I mean, hot damn. Also, I love Elio's parents and want to hang out with them and talk literature.

Tonight's after-work plan is to drop by the bookstore and grab a copy of Mary Robinette Kowal's The Calculating Stars, because the library does not have it yet and I NEED it. Then Indian food truck dinner, then more cat cuddling and perhaps a Critical Role marathon with accompanying beer. I make my own fun, and it is mostly sedentary.

Reading Log: The Tyrant's Daughter by J.C. Carleson; Dark Queen by Faith Hunter; Bygone Badass Broads by Mackenzi Lee; Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean; The Odyssey translated by Emily Wilson
