The (hopefully) last nor'easter of the winter gave us a good coating of ice, between six to eight inches of snow, me one and a half days off, and Yeats two. This means he'll have to go have a half-day "staff development day" on Friday rather than have Good Friday off entirely, but he figures he can survive that, and it was worth it to stay home warm and safe and drinking port last Wednesday.

I got a haircut! My last one was (I did the calendar math) sometime during the summer of 2016, and my hair was cascading down my back and tangling in knots and just hanging there no matter what I tried to do with it. Plus, getting it dry after a shower took a minimum of fifteen minutes. I stopped at our favorite wine shop after work on Friday to grab something, noticed the salon next door, and said to myself "Just do it." So I walked in and asked about availability in the coming week. They fit me in for a Saturday morning haircut without a qualm, and now I have adorable short hair just brushing my shoulders that needs minimal maintenance. It feels so good and looks great, even if Yeats is still wistful about my long hair blowing in the breeze.

Easter this weekend, where I will see my niece and nephews, hear stories about their new puppy (who is much too active to take the 90-minute car ride to Grandma's house, no matter how much the kids want to show her off), and get to eat chocolate again AT LONG LAST. My mother-in-law has already asked if I will be eating Easter ham with everyone else, or if she should just leave my basket full of candy at my place at the table.
