My knight in banged-up armor
Jun. 6th, 2018 03:15 pmWell, this is a fine way to brighten my week.
Publishers Weekly gave Crusade a starred review!
You have to understand, Yeats agonized over this book. He excised entire chunks of plot, and streamlined several more. He revised an entire character on the recommendation of his editor. He fought like hell for another character. He wrote and rewrote and swore he was going to quit writing and go run an artisanal cheese shop. He panicked that the ending was bad, that people would hate him because of *redacted redacted* to *character redacted*. He said after the last revising run-through that he would he perfectly happy never to look at the book again.
Now two out of his three books have PW starred reviews. I am so very proud of him. *beams*
Reading Log: Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran; The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang; Naondel by Maria Turtschaninoff; Jane Seymour: The Haunted Queen by Alison Weir
