And so we slog
Oct. 22nd, 2018 09:35 amIt is bright and vivid and cold out (35F this morning), and while Yeats is beating his chest and letting the breeze ruffle his beard, I am swaddling myself in a hoodie and grumbling. I am also grumbling because I think he gave me his cold--either he did, or one of the many people I met at the local con on Saturday did-- and I absolutely cannot call out today, since Aveline is back after a week with her dad (he's doing fine) and we have catching up to do.
Of course, this day began with a client walking in right as I said something sarcastic about their situation (please take me now, Lord), and another client insisting that they emailed me a Very Important Document two weeks ago despite the fact that it is nowhere in any of my email folders. Must be Monday.
Today's goals are to get through the day, not sneeze on anyone, chug some Emergen-C when I get home, and watch Doctor Who. Surely these are accomplishable.
Reading Log: A Recipe for Bees by Gail Anderson-Dargatz; The Birthday Boys by Beryl Bainbridge; Magic of Wind and Mist by Cassandra Rose Clarke; Treacherous is the Night by Anna Lee Huber; Wildcard by Marie Lu; Dragon's Code by Gigi McCaffrey; Signal to Noise by Silvia Moreno-Garcia; Give the Dark My Love by Beth Revis; The Ravenmaster by Christopher Skaife; The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White
