Aveline was out on Friday, and Anders scheduled seven So You Want to Be an Attorney meetings with law students taking the DE bar. I smiled at seven strangers, offered them coffee and water, and shook their hands. In return, one of them (I'm imagining it was the fellow who smelled like equal parts aftershave and hand sanitizer) gave me some small blerg. I zombied my way through Sunday and Monday, got four books read and 1.5 episodes of Critical Role watched, and am now coherent enough to be back at work. I may even be coherent enough to watch the latest DW episode tonight.

Yeats and I will be at the Hockessin Art and Book Fair (here!) on Saturday, all decked out in his kilt and selling the complete Paladin trilogy. Other local authors will be there, as will craft vendors, probably a food truck or two...who can say? Stop in, say hi, buy a book or three and get them autographed!

Bro is still trying to find the magical combination of apology, wheedling, and low-effort menu suggestions that will convince Yeats and I to come to (and prepare) Thanksgiving the First next Saturday, but we are standing firm. Maybe when Queen Liz and Rob decide to deviate from their chicken-nugget-based diet and eat with the adults. Or maybe when the response to my pie is "Thank you for making the pie!" and not "Why didn't you make X pie instead, that's the kind I really like."

We are watching the new Sabrina series, but...they went a lot darker with this series. I mean, anything would be darker than sitcom Sabrina, but they are making it abundantly clear that this sixteen-year-old is very literally considering whether to sign her soul over to Actual Satan. This is not "an it harm none, do what thou wilt", it's "do what thou wilt is the whole of the law", and no matter how nice Sabrina is, that's a road that leads to indulgence and careless/cruel use of power. I am also very skeeved by the show's apparent willingness to put Kiernan Shipka in nude scenes (no full-frontal or anything, but definitely nude) or in underwear/lingerie. Again, she's meant to be sixteen. Either work Greendale's official age of consent into dialogue to ease my mind, or ensure Aunt Zelda and Aunt Hilda plan to hold off the study of sex magic until Sabrina's eighteen. That said, it is my delight to watch Michelle Gomez and Miranda Otto vamping it up, I am impressed by how very evil Richard Coyle can apparently be, and I like Cousin Ambrose a lot. *cough* Quite a lot.

Today, we work. This afternoon, we vote! I am pointedly wearing blue.
